Pulling everything together can be overwhelming,” It’s important to remember that your selections are working together to create a story. Collect images for inspiration and keep them in one place, such as a notebook, a pin board or even taped to a wall. A Pinterest board or idea book from Houzz are also wonderful tools to keep your ideas in one place. Be flexible because your ideas may change over time. As you select potential color schemes, surface materials and furnishings, look at them in groups to make sure that they all work together. All your decisions should be well thought out and finalized before any construction begins or any furniture is ordered. • Modern Mountain Home | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Modern Mountain Home New Construction | Project Overview When our clients decided to build their dream home they enlisted us to help with all the details. They were excited about living in a modern home but their previous home was very traditional and this was SO different. They had a set of plans but they were overwhelmed by the layout and no finishes had been selected. This project has so many great details. We created layers of texture, with warm neutrals, rich velvets and materials grounded in nature that balance out the architectural elements. We love the drama of the black concrete fireplace and architectural elements in the home-it makes such a bold statement. It can be tough to work with a large open concept and still have the space feel cozy and warm. We spent a lot of time talking with them about their likes, dislikes, needs, hopes and dreams so the entire project reflects their style, taste and lifestyle. We developed a complete vocabulary of finishes including color pallet, surface materials, cabinet details, plumbing and lighting. We provided the furnishings. accessories and art. • University District New Shed Style | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

University District- New Shed Style Modern Home Project Overview A sub-style of Contemporary-Modern design, Shed homes were particular favorites of architects in the 1960s and 1970s. They feature multiple single-plane roofs, often sloping in different directions, creating unique geometric shapes. Wood shingles or vertical board siding typically covers the exterior, and front doorways are recessed and downplayed. Large windows are arranged for views to the outside. New Construction offers some unique opportunities. This was a high end spec home that quickly became a custom home. We came onto this project a little later than we would have liked but we jumped in and helped our clients make some big decisions. They were very overwhelmed and suffering from major decision fatigue. Once we got started they were surprised how easy the process was. We assisted with finalizing the cabinet details and design and a ll s urface materials including flooring & tile details, lighting, plumbing and color selections. We assisted with the ceiling details and worked with the client and builder on the perfect shade for the wood posts and beams in the dining room. Architectural details make all the difference. We provided conceptual furniture plans, assisted in the furnishings selections, We spent a day shopping for furniture and helped with all the finishing touches including wall paper, artwork & accessories. This wine room is one of our favorites spaces. Photos by William Flanagan Pash-Uhn Photography + design Entry Photo by Matthew Witschonke Photography Sound Photographics < Back to Projects

  • Normandy Park Project | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Normandy Park-Lakeside Retreat Project Overview Our clients had purchased their lakefront dream home but needed some assistance seeing its full potential. This was an entire home renovation. It took several months for conceptual design development and construction. This light and bright kitchen started out looking much different..We were able to work with the construction team to remove part of the mezzanine and open it up and to make the space functional for our client’s family without compromising on aesthetics. Originally we had hoped to save the kitchen cabinets and have them painted however, once we got started we quickly realized the quality was not what we wanted to invest in. Working closely with our clients and their construction team to make smart design and renovation decisions made all the difference! Photos by Will Flanagan Pash-uhn Photography Contractor: Vedere Construction Architect: Jennifer Wedderman Architecture Client Review: We first found Alinda through Houzz and feel so lucky that we did - we would give her 6 stars if we could! • Sea Cliff House | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Sea Cliff House We assisted the client on their entire home renovation from conception to completion. We started with the kitchen design- We sketched out some ideas and decided expand the kitchen and add built-in banquette seating. We drew inspiration from the amazing views and site location. We incorporated u nique finishes and design details- Amenities, customized storage and Integrated appliances. Our goal was to create a calming, neutral palette then we layered in color and contrast so even though the space is a relaxing environment. for our clients. It feels interesting and curated just for them. Luxury is more about having something that reflects the client’s personality and lifestyle than re-sale...although that is always a consideration. When selecting furnishings for the space we introduced soft durable fabrics and lots of texture. Neutral does not have to be boring! The key is variation in texture and adding in some organic elements. Getting to know our clients' style is the best part of the process! The custom furniture is perfect for the space. • Queen Anne Kitchen Redesign | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Queen Anne Kitchen Redesign & Remodel Project Overview This mid century modern kitchen feels right at home in this craftsman neighborhood. This kitchen has layers of details and but feels modern and expansive. The kitchen was designed for an active family of four so we took advantage of every storage opportunity. The built-in banquette is made of solid walnut and creates a cozy sitting area. The table was handmade by the homeowner who is a talented woodworker, she also made the butter block countertop. Incorporating a seating area in a kitchen is an opportunity to create an intimate space to enjoy time with family, enjoy a lazy sunday morning or finish up the latest project. The existing hardwood floors were refinished and the butcher block island top was incorporated into the new design both really help to soften some of the newer details like modern walnut cabinets. The existing skylights help to showcase the beam and wrapped post detail and fills the space with natural light. Sleek under cabinet lighting and hidden recessed plug molding provides plenty of function without outlets to disrupt the tile detail. Photos by Julie Mannell Photography Client Review Alinda worked with us on almost every detail of our kitchen remodel. Her thorough understanding of style, function, and cost made her invaluable to the project. Thank you! Seattle WA.
