Queen Anne Kitchen Redesign & Remodel

Project Overview

This mid century modern kitchen feels right at home in this craftsman neighborhood. This kitchen has layers of details and but feels modern and expansive. The kitchen was designed for an active family of four so we took advantage of every storage opportunity. The built-in banquette is made of solid walnut and creates a cozy sitting area. The table was handmade by the homeowner who is a talented woodworker, she also made the butter block countertop.

Incorporating a seating area in a kitchen is an opportunity to create an intimate space to enjoy time with family, enjoy a lazy sunday morning or finish up the latest project. The existing hardwood floors were refinished and the butcher block island top was incorporated into the new design both really help to soften some of the newer details like modern walnut cabinets. The existing skylights help to showcase the beam and wrapped post detail and fills the space with natural light. Sleek under cabinet lighting and hidden recessed plug molding provides plenty of function without outlets to disrupt the tile detail.
