  • Mid Mod Scandi Project | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Mid-Mod Scandi style Kitchen Project Project Overview This kitchen is what Pinterest dreams are made of. For this complete kitchen remodel, we wanted to honor the integrity of the original envelope of the space which was an odd combination of postmodern and traditional styles. We started with a functional floorplan and cabinet layout and added tons of storage based on how our clients live in their home. We drew inspiration from Midcentury, Scandinavian and Nordic architecture and a less-is-more aesthetic. Our clients love bright, happy colors partnered with warm neutrals. We wanted to capture our client’s personality, so we developed a playful color palette and added pattern for depth. In selecting surface materials, we focused on durability for this busy family of 4. • Normandy Park Project | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Normandy Park-Lakeside Retreat Project Overview Our clients had purchased their lakefront dream home but needed some assistance seeing its full potential. This was an entire home renovation. It took several months for conceptual design development and construction. This light and bright kitchen started out looking much different..We were able to work with the construction team to remove part of the mezzanine and open it up and to make the space functional for our client’s family without compromising on aesthetics. Originally we had hoped to save the kitchen cabinets and have them painted however, once we got started we quickly realized the quality was not what we wanted to invest in. Working closely with our clients and their construction team to make smart design and renovation decisions made all the difference! Photos by Will Flanagan Pash-uhn Photography Contractor: Vedere Construction Architect: Jennifer Wedderman Architecture Client Review: We first found Alinda through Houzz and feel so lucky that we did - we would give her 6 stars if we could! We hired Alinda for a full house renovation while living abroad, and she was so easy to work with and instrumental in managing the whole project. She really took the time to get to know our style and expertly guide us in the right direction while also letting us feel creative and express our style. We could not be happier with the outcome! Alinda is extremely professional, hardworking, design and budget savvy, and also a great person. We highly, highly recommend her! Before Photos Before Photos Before Photos < Back to Projects

  • University District New Shed Style | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

University District- New Shed Style Modern Home Project Overview A sub-style of Contemporary-Modern design, Shed homes were particular favorites of architects in the 1960s and 1970s. They feature multiple single-plane roofs, often sloping in different directions, creating unique geometric shapes. Wood shingles or vertical board siding typically covers the exterior, and front doorways are recessed and downplayed. Large windows are arranged for views to the outside. New Construction offers some unique opportunities. This was a high end spec home that quickly became a custom home. We came onto this project a little later than we would have liked but we jumped in and helped our clients make some big decisions. They were very overwhelmed and suffering from major decision fatigue. Once we got started they were surprised how easy the process was. We assisted with finalizing the cabinet details and design and a ll s urface materials including flooring & tile details, lighting, plumbing and color selections. We assisted with the ceiling details and worked with the client and builder on the perfect shade for the wood posts and beams in the dining room. Architectural details make all the difference. We provided conceptual furniture plans, assisted in the furnishings selections, We spent a day shopping for furniture and helped with all the finishing touches including wall paper, artwork & accessories. • Point Ruston Project | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Point Ruston Project Project Overview: Our client came to us just days within closing on their waterfront condo and tasked us with the challenge of designing and installing the entire house in time for them to enjoy the summer in their new home. This was such a fun project because we are all about creating stylish, eclectic yet clean line spaces for our clients. We started with several conceptual furniture plan options. Once we had a finalized layout; We presented several design & concept boards with furniture selections and lighting options. We provided furnishings, artwork window treatments and updated most of the lighting fixtures. Changing out the lighting was a definite game changer for this space! C reating interest in a new construction space can be challenging. When working to personalize new construction we combine styles and periods through a wide variety of items to achieve a curated look. We carried the eclecticism throughout the home to create flow. We added a few luxury details like (washable) hotel chic bedding. We wanted our clients to feel like they are on vacation all the time but we did not want anything in the space to feel formal or precious. We created a cohesive luxury vacation experience but with a sense of humor. We chose a simple color palette, next we layered in both color & pattern and played up the warm neutral finishes to create a cohesive look. We Incorporated both rough and smooth textures to add interest to the interior. We knew the a rt, accessories and interior styling were going to be really important so we selected custom artwork focusing on artists we love (Images with a travel theme), The space is cozy & grown up with family friendly finishes and no hard edges. Our clients LOVE it. It makes us so happy to know this family is making memories in the space we designed just for them. Photography: William Flanagan Pash-Uhn Photography.
