  • Mid Century Modern Project | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Mid Century Modern Project Our clients hired us to help restore-renovate the spectacular mid century modern home ( built in 1953 ). We wanted to update the home while preserving the architectural elements that were special. In developing a vocabulary of finishes, we embraced the warmth and creativity of this iconic era with an earthy color palette, rich wood cabinetry and inviting textures. All finishes were carefully considered. We kept the original envelope of the home the same. We made no structural changes instead we focused on small changes that provided maximum visual impact. We kept all the original interior doors and reglet trim. We painted all the door black for contrast. We kept as much of the mahogany casework that was original to the home as possible. • Mid Mod Scandi Project | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Mid-Mod Scandi style Kitchen Project Project Overview This kitchen is what Pinterest dreams are made of. For this complete kitchen remodel, we wanted to honor the integrity of the original envelope of the space which was an odd combination of postmodern and traditional styles. We started with a functional floorplan and cabinet layout and added tons of storage based on how our clients live in their home. We drew inspiration from Midcentury, Scandinavian and Nordic architecture and a less-is-more aesthetic. Our clients love bright, happy colors partnered with warm neutrals. We wanted to capture our client’s personality, so we developed a playful color palette and added pattern for depth. In selecting surface materials, we focused on durability for this busy family of 4. • Modern Rosedale Project | Alinda Morris Interior Design LLC

Modern Rosedale Project Project Overview: This was a new construction project, which means we worked with several different trades to coordinate all the details to make sure the end result was exactly what the clients wanted. We went from conception, through to completion- from the surface materials selection, plumbing and lighting, down to the furnishings and accessories-We focused on selecting finishes that were family friendly, highlighting the features they loved most about their (truly custom) home and creating special cozy areas for family time and also adding drama where it was appropriate. Our clients really let us create a unique space for them with elements of both modern and traditional-This project demonstrates that mixing traditional and modern architectural elements can work well when done properly, We love finding creative solutions to meet the goals of our clients.
